Beginning with a Mama
I have a confession to make. Not only do I love to write (as one can tell from my rather verbose posts), but I LOVE to read. My love of literature is inherited from my mom, who is also an avid reader. I learned to read before the age of three and I have never stopped inhaling words!
Several years ago, my mom and I decided to start our own book club because what is great about reading books is not only the actually reading, but the discussing. Sometimes we agree in our analysis of a particular book and sometimes we do not, but the fun part is hashing it out!
My mom and I keep book journals to jot down our thoughts after reading. It is those moments, right after you put the book down (or turn off your Kindle) that your emotions about what you have just read are the most raw. The best books are the ones that evoke the strongest reactions.
If you follow me on Good Reads, you will quickly see that while I have read hundreds of books, it does not mean that I have loved them all…or even liked them. My mom and I like to say that we are rather picky with our books. Have you ever read something so spectacular that the next book you pick up pales by comparison? It is almost unfair, but it is not like I am actually going to refrain from reading!
Tales for Mamas
I write this blog not only to share with you my own personal tales, Dear Reader, but from time to time I love to share the tales of others. As I come across great books, I begin compiling a list to share with other mamas (including my own!) Check out my previous book recommendations for Mamas here and stay tuned for future posts!
